What Is the Summer Solstice Series?

A simple idea—gathering with friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues—to have fun and raise awareness of the plight of homeless families.

When we go to a friend’s house for a party, we usually take flowers, wine, or a dish.  In this case, ask guests not to bring anything, but instead to make a donation to IHN to help homeless families.

To participate, organize an event and invite your guests.  Plan your event anytime during the year to celebrate the autumn, winter, or spring solstice.

When you sign up, you’ll receive a Host Kit that includes information about email invitations, “Tips for Hosts,” a summary sheet, and materials to help you tell your guests about IHN.  You may request the Executive Director or a Board Member attend your event to give a brief overview of the IHN mission and answer your guests’ questions.
